Nowadays, more than half of the entire population of the world is already using and exposed to the internet or online world, whether it is children, teenagers, or elders. Technology, specifically the internet, has no age limit. Thus, staying connected with the online community plays a crucial role for these people in many ways.
As one of the users of technology and the internet, staying connected and updated with the online community utilizes various factors in my daily life. Staying updated in the online community means staying connected to the world. The importance of staying updated in the online community involves being aware of the different incidents that have been happening across the world for the past years until the present, from global challenges such as world health issues like communicable diseases, pandemics, and malnutrition to environmental issues like climate change, tropical cyclones, as well as the different forms of pollution, and many other planetary concerns that we, as people, should be aware of. We should be conscious of the happenings in our surroundings to take an immediate and appropriate action. Moreover, an individual like me can improve skills and knowledge involving social skills, critical thinking skills, and most importantly, develop better world perspectives.
With the fact that online communities are widely accessible and serve as the primary medium for communication as well as for obtaining and delivering information internationally, we can already conclude the importance of staying connected to the online world. Staying connected to the internet reflects how people nowadays make use of the internet to keep up with the changes happening to the world, also known as globalization.
